8x8 Layouts

This week I've been working on a 8x8 First Communion album for a customer. I've chosen muted blues and greens as well as cream for a sophisticated, yet masculine look. All the papers are from a K & Co. coordinating set. I've used chipboard flourishes, tiny rhinestones, and of course, lots of stitching. I've also included spaces to add people's names with temporary adhesive, so they can be pulled off to write on, or pulled off permanently.

Here are some of the details that it's harder to see in the full shots:

Christmas paperbag album

I guess I got into the Christmas spirit this weekend because I've been working on two Christmas mini album projects. The first is this paperbag album. All the pages are show below. Basically it is made out of two lunch bag style paper bags and has places for eight 4"x2.5" photos and/or journaling. In between two of the pages are the bag openings which make "pockets" for more pictures, cards, notes, whatever you can think of. The front of the album is made with a red denim-like fabric. The ribbon used to tie it all together is a great big plaid Christmas ribbon with metallic accents along with a red felt ricrac and green fuzzy fiber. It makes a cute gift or a great place to store your best Christmas memories. Check out my website for more information:

Opps! This one is sold, but please visit my website to see more mini albums.

"What's for dinner" flip book

This has been one of my most useful projects. I got tired of each child and my husband asking every night "what's for dinner?". I got tired of racking my brain each night trying to decide what to make. So, I made up this handy flip chart so everyone can easily see "what's for dinner". I also use it to look ahead and plan my grocery shopping. In the past, I found myself cooking the same things over and over, so this helps give each recipe equal time. Now kids can't complain because I haven't made "their favorite" in a long time. Everything is on a rotation. I LOVE LOVE this project!

Ireland Mini Album

This is the album I've been working on. It's a travel album for Ireland. I'm still going to put in some journaling, but you get the idea. I'm going to keep it on my coffee table in a basket with other mini albums. I saved brochures and postcards from the trip and they all went in here.
